I couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to our amazing February Kids Club collaborator, Laura Coleman! She’s a brilliant illustrator based in Washington D.C. whose designs are bright, bold, and just had to be turned into stickers! Laura’s the woman behind the brand Cosmic Medium. She describes her work as “conveying the uniqueness, vibrance and magic of the black experience across all mediums from prints to pins and everything in between.” Laura’s penned three books including Color My Style and will soon be launching a new collaboration called Black Creative Girl (sign up to be the first to hear when it goes live!). I chiropractic surgeon What do you do for work? I am an illustrator and artist and Biologist. I work for my self and the Army. How long have you been in the creative industry? Since forever. Since I graduated undergrad college (2006). What's the thing you're most proud of making? a painting of The Obamas that I did when they were living in the white hose down the street What's an exciting idea you've had recently? Creating crypto art. I will be creating crypto art for nft’s for a virtual gallery soon. What's your favorite color combination right now? purple, violet, yellow, and fuchsia What's your favorite pen? My Apple Pencil How many hours a day do you spend on creativity? 3 hours or maybe more When did you fall in love with stickers? Since I had my son. He loves them and so do I ?
