DIY: Best Way To Customize A Gift

Gift giving is all about the personal touch, and what better way to customize your presents than with handmade gift tags? Even if you're short on time, you can create beautiful tags using border stickers, alpha stickers, decorative stickers, and washi tape. Let’s dive into this quick DIY project that adds flair to any gift!

What You’ll Need:

Blank tags (or leftover cardstock cut into tag shapes)
Border stickers + washi tape
Alpha stickers (for names or messages)
Decorative stickers (to embellish!)
Scissors
Hole punch (if your tags don’t have holes)
Twine or ribbon (for attaching tags)

Step 2: Prepare Your Tags

If you’re using blank tags, ensure they are ready to go. If you’re making your own from cardstock, cut them into tag shapes (about 2” x 4” is a good size). We used old Pipsticker backing cards! Use a hole punch at the top to create a space for your twine or ribbon.

Step 3: Apply Your Stickers!

Choose your favorite border stickers to frame your tags
Using the alpha stickers, spell out names or short messages. You can arrange the letters creatively, either centered or aligned to one side. This adds a personal touch to each tag!
Embellish with even more stickers! Fill in empty spaces with minis, or cover the whole tag with one big sticker! The opportunities are truly endless :)

Step 7: Final Touches

Once you’ve decorated your tags, give them a once-over to make sure everything is sticking well and looks good. Trim any excess washi tape or adjust stickers if needed.

Step 8: Attach the Tags

Cut a length of twine or ribbon, thread it through the hole at the top of the tag, and tie it securely. Now your tags are ready to be attached to gifts!

Step 9: Wrap (or Don’t)

If you’re short on time, you can skip the elaborate wrapping and simply attach your beautiful tags to gifts. This minimalist approach looks chic and is sure to impress!

Mix and Match: Don’t hesitate to mix different styles of stickers and washi tape for a more eclectic look.
Theme it Up: Consider the occasion (birthdays, holidays, etc.) and choose colors and designs that match.
Batch It: If you have several gifts to give, make a batch of tags in one go to save time. It's easy to add them to a last minute gift at a moment's notice!
